Dunedin Craft Beer Scene
Dunedin just may be the best little beer town you’ve never heard of. While technically a suburb of it’s larger neighbors, Tampa and Clearwater, Dunedin maintains its own character and charm and feels way more like a small town. The town was settled by Scottish immigrants and has embraced that heritage with the annual Dunedin Celtic Festival every fall.
The population is a mix of hipster, retirees, and LGBTQ community that have all decided to live in a weird, blissful harmony in a very southern state. And that shows in the restaurants, bars and breweries that dot every corner of the town. Don’t look for an Olive Garden in this town. You won’t find it here. For a city of around 36,000 people, they have 8 breweries all within a half mile of each other.
Dunedin is on the water, but it isn’t technically a beach town. But it’s the closest city to Honeymoon Island and Caledesi (no relation to the dragon queen) Island which are undeveloped state parks and the most pristine beaches in Florida.
